The day held a conversation with Chef Tyler Florence, an alfresco lunch and curated shopping experience hosted by the Summit League in support of our primary recipient, Loaves & Fishes.

ABOUT LOAVES & FISHES

Over their forty year history, Loaves & Fishes has grown from providing over 10,000 meals annually to now serving almost two million meals to our neighbors facing hunger and food insecurity every day. But even with the thousands of meals Loaves & Fishes is able to provide, more families, children and seniors are becoming hungry on a daily basis. Funding raised at the luncheon will go a long way toward ending this crisis of food insecurity as well as providing an essential resource for local emergencies.

FEATURED SPEAKER: TYLER FLORENCE

Tyler Florence is an acclaimed chef, restaurateur, and author known for his innovative approach to American cuisine. A host of numerous Food Network shows and author of 17 cookbooks, he is also a passionate advocate for community support. Tyler is the owner of the renowned Miller & Lux restaurant in San Francisco and the beloved Wayfare Tavern. In 2017, he mobilized resources to provide thousands of meals to first responders and displaced residents during the Northern California wildfires. During the 2018 Camp Fire, he teamed up with fellow chefs Guy Fieri and José Andrés to prepare 15,000 meals for the affected community. Most recently, he teamed up with fellow chefs and organizations to serve thousands of meals for the horrific wildfires in the Los Angeles area. His ability to use his culinary expertise to serve communities in crisis is a perfect fit for Summit League’s mission, and we are honored to have him join us this year.
